Option A: scan with the camera app#

  1. Open your camera app.
  2. Point at the QR code and hold steady.
  3. Tap the link/banner that appears.

If nothing appears, your camera app may require Lens mode (see Option B).

Option B: scan with Google Lens#

  1. Open the Google app (or Google Lens).
  2. Tap the Lens icon and point at the QR code.
  3. Tap the detected action (open link, join WiFi, save contact, etc.).

Scan a QR code from a screenshot (Android)#

  • Open the screenshot in Google Photos and use Lens (if available).
  • Or scan it online (privacy-friendly): QR code scanner (decoding runs locally in your browser).

If it won't scan#

  • Increase lighting and avoid reflections (glossy prints are common offenders).
  • Move closer/farther until it focuses.
  • Make sure the QR isn't cropped (needs a quiet zone).
